ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
This is the sixth year of the Big Ten Match Play Championship and the second straight year that it will be held at The Concessions Golf Club, which will be the site of the 2015 NCAA Championships.
The Hoosiers claimed the first Big Ten Match Play title in 2009, followed by Northwestern winning the next three before Illinois broke through last year.
The only Indiana player that has played in a match play event at the collegiate level is senior David Mills, and he brings a 6-5-4 record into the event. He went 1-0-2 last year in the Big Ten Match Play Championship.
Indiana will begin play on Friday as the No. 6 seed, taking on the No. 11 seed Wisconsin at 7:30 p.m. The winner will advance to play No. 3 seed Northwestern in the afternoon match. The loser will play the loser of Ohio State and Nebraska in the afternoon.
THE FIELD THIS WEEK
The final GolfStat rankings of the Fall season are used to determine seeding for the event. The seeds are as follows:

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Hoosiers competed was Oct. 22, 2013, in the final round of the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Ga. Indiana finished fifth out of the 12 team field and had four players place inside the Top 20, led by David Mills and his score of 220 to leave him in 10th place. Max Kollin, Nicholas Grubnich and Keegan Vea all finished with scores of 224 (T20).
INDIANA IN THE RANKINGS
The Hoosiers have played a very strong fall portion of the schedule with a young team and their solid play has them ranked No. 69 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 59 in the Golfweek rankings this week.
YOUNG HOOSIERS
Indiana has just two seniors on the team and has frequently seen two freshmen in the lineup during the fall. Senior David Mills leads the team with a 73.73 scoring average while sophomore Max Kollin is second at 75.06. Both Mills and Kollin played in all five fall tournaments for the Hoosiers - the first regular playing time for Kollin.
Freshmen Keegan Vea (75.55) and Will Seger (76.26) are in the top five on the team in scoring along with junior Nicholas Grubnich (75.73).
BIG TEN GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Senior David Mills picked up his first career Big Ten weekly honor earlier in the fall, when the conference selected him as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. The Evansville native earned the award after a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate (Sept. 6-8). He posted rounds of 74, 68 and 72 on his way to his seventh career top 5 finish in a tournament.
TEAM BALANCE
Through the first five tournaments of the year, six different IU players have recorded at least one Top 25 finish. Senior David Mills has four Top 25 finishes, including a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate, T12 at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, T25 at Crooked Stick and T10 at Pinetree.
Sophomore Max Kollin finished T24 at the Northern Intercollegiate and T20 at Pinetree while Andrew Fogg and Keegan Vea checked in at T24 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Vea also posted a T20 finish at Pinetree along with Nicholas Grubnich. Hugo Menendez checked in with a T23 finish at Crooked Stick.
GOING LOW
David Mills' second round score of 68 at the Northern Intercollegiate was tied for the best round of the day on Saturday and put him in a position to compete for the individual title on the final day. It was also his lowest round since shooting a 66 in April of 2012.
