Snodgrass Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year

Indiana University sophomore swimmer Brooklynn Snodgrass was named the 2013-14 Big Ten Swimmer of the Year in a vote conducted by the conference coaches.
It is the third-straight year an Indiana swimmer has been named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Year (Lindsay Vrooman-2013; Allysa Vavra-2012) and the fifth time in the last six years (Kate Fesenko-2009, 2010).
Snodgrass capped off her sophomore season by winning the NCAA championship in the 200-yard backstroke last Saturday in Minneapolis, Snodgrass' time of 1:50.52 is a new career best and the second-fastest time in IU history. She becomes just the second Hoosier swimmer to ever win an NCAA title, joining Kate Fesenko who won the 200 back title in 2010.
Snodgrass also finished fourth in the 100 backstroke with a Big Ten and school record time of 51.05. In addition to those two All-America honors, Snodgrass was an honorable mention All-American in the 800 free relay (16th-7:08.07), 200 medley relay (10th-1:37.30) and the 400 medley relay (9th-3:30.56).
At the 2014 Big Ten Championships, Snodgrass defended her title in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke, while also part of the winning 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay and the second-place 800 free relay.
