OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. -- Senior Nicholas Grubnich bettered his first round score by one stroke on Saturday and is tied for 18th individually after two rounds of the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club. As a team, Indiana posted a score 312 in round two and is in 15th place.
Grubnich has a total score of 147 (+7) through the first two rounds and is tied for 18th heading into Sunday's final round. He started his day on the back nine and registered two birdies and two bogeys to go out in even par 35. Then on the front nine, he posted seven pars, a bogey and one double bogey for his round of 73.
Sophomore Andrew Havill had a score of 77 on Saturday, playing his first nine in five over par before settling down and posting a 2-over par 37 on his second nine holes. His total score of 159 has him in a tie for 67th.
Freshman Brendon Doyle, sophomore Will Seger and freshman Matt Weber all carded rounds of 81 on Saturady. Doyle is in a tie for 59th place while Seger and Weber are tied for 65th going into the final round.
The Hoosiers will start the final round on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. CT.
