Sophomore Gia Dalesandro makes her first senior national team in the 100-meter butterfly. Dalesandro's time of 58.99 at the USA Swimming national meet last month earned her spot on the team, as well as set a new school record in the event.
Also on the women's team is Lindsay Vrooman. Vrooman, who completed her eligibility at IU this past spring, makes the team in the 400-meter freestyle and 800-meter freestyle. Vrooman clocked a time of 4:07.82 in the 400 free at last month's national meet, along with an 8:29.06 in the 800 freestyle. Vrooman was a member of the USA Swimming National Team in the 400 freestyle in 2013-14.
On the men's side, recent IU graduate Cody Miller makes the national team for the second-straight year in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke. Miller won his first senior national title last month with a 59.91 in the 100 breaststroke. That earned him a trip to the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, as well as a spot on the 2015 World Championships team.
Miller also makes the team in the 200 breaststroke after posting a 2:11.28 at nationals.
