AT THE NORTHERN INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Hoosiers have made a habit of opening the fall season at Rich Harvest Farms in recent years, with some success. Here's a look at how IU has fared at the tournament:
2011: 3rd
2012: 1st
2013: 8th
REGULARS IN THE LINEUP
Three Hoosiers - Grubnich, Kollin, Seger - played in all 34 stroke play events last season and are in the lineup again this week to extend their streak of consecutive events played.
17TH SEASON FOR COACH MAYER
The 2014-15 season will mark the 17th as head coach at Indiana. He has won 25 team tournaments and at least one tournament in each of the last 11 seasons.
STARTING YOUNG
Head coach Mike Mayer will send a pair of freshmen into the lineup this weekend to start the season. It is the second straight season with a freshman in the lineup for the first weekend after Will Seger opened his career at the Northern Intercollegiate last year. Going back a third year, then-freshman Sean Stone competed in the tournament as an individual.
