ITA Regional Championships Start Thursday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Up next for the Indiana men's tennis team is the 2015 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships Thursday Oct. 15-Monday Oct. 19, hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.
Among the Hoosiers particiapants will be Elliott Yee, Sam Monette, Daniel Bednarczyk, Chris Essick, Matthew McCoy, Raheel Manji, Antonio Cembellin and Afonso Salgado.
The format for the event will be a 128-player singles draw and 64-team doubles draw. No qualifying. There will be consolation singles. This is a Grand Slam-sized tournament. Seven wins are required to win the singles title.
Per ITA/NCAA rules, no-ad scoring will be used. Singles is best of three sets and doubles will be 8-game pro sets. Consolation singles will use a 10-point tiebreaker instead of a third set.
Tentative Tournament Schedule (8:00 a.m. start Thursday/Friday)
Thursday - 3 rounds of doubles, 1 round of singles
Friday - 2 rounds of main draw singles, 2 rounds of consolation singles
Saturday - 2 rounds of main draw singles (R16, QF), 1 round of doubles (QF), 2 rounds of consolation singles
Sunday - 1 round of main draw singles (SF), 1 round of doubles (SF), 2 rounds of consolation singles (SF & F)
Monday - Singles and doubles final (note - doubles final could be played Sunday)
