NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –Senior Awele Nwaeze and freshman Elizabeth Asdell tallied double-digit kills and the Indiana volleyball team won in three sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-23) at College Avenue Gym on Wednesday.
Nwaeze posted 11 kills and no errors on 13 swings for a .846 hitting efficiency and added six blocks. Asdell tied her career-high in kills with 10 and hit .500.
Junior setter Megan Tallman guided the Indiana offense to a .378 hitting percentage with 38 assists. She also contributed four blocks, three digs and three kills.
After winning the first set 25-16, the Hoosiers (14-13, 4-11) did not let up and hit a .410 hitting percentage with 18 kills on the way to a 25-21 win in set two.
The third set went back and fourth with 17 ties and five lead changes, but the Hoosiers kept up the efficient offensive attack with 16 kills and hit .379. Nwaeze connected with Tallman for one of her 11 kills to end the match and give Indiana the win.
Up next the Hoosiers host Michigan State on Saturday Nov. 14 at 7:00 p.m. ET at University Gym.
