No. 22 Indiana Faces Maryland in B1G Semifinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 22 Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer team will face the Maryland Terrapins in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals on Friday, November 13 in Columbus, Ohio at 3:30 p.m.

SETTING?THE?SCENE
• Indiana enters the Big Ten Tournament playing some of it's best soccer of the season. The Hoosiers have won five-straight matches and have posted a record of 9-1-1 in the team's last 11 games.
• In the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals, the Hoosiers defeated the No. 7-seeded Wisconsin Badgers, 1-0, in Bloomington.
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen scored the game winner for the Hoosiers in the 22^nd minute – his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
• IU ended the regular season on a high note, taking down Michigan State in East Lansing, 4-1. Tanner Thompson and Femi Hollinger-Janzen each had a goal and an assist in the win.

NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana's five-match winning-streak is the longest for the team since winning its last five games of the 2012 season, culminating the program's eighth NCAA title.
• The last time the Hoosiers won six matches in a row was during the 2006 season.
• Colin Webb was named 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District. Webb is now eligible to be named an Academic All-American, which will be voted on in November.
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen was named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
• The Maryland Terrapins enter Friday's Big Ten Tournament semifinal with an overall record of 9-5-4 on the season.
• The Terrapins earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, finishing the season with a record of 3-2-3 in league play.
• In the NCAA RPI Rankings released on Monday, Maryland sits one spot behind the Hoosiers at No. 23.
• In the national polls, Maryland is ranked No. 20 by Top Drawer Soccer, No. 21 by College Soccer News and is receiving votes in the NSCAA Coaches poll.

SERIES HISTORY
• In the overall series between the two teams dating back to 1999, Indiana holds a 3-2-3 record over Maryland.
• Earlier this season, the Hoosiers traveled to College Park and played the No. 18 Terrapins to a 0-0 draw.
• Indiana and Maryland have faced each other just one time in the Big Ten Tournament.
• In the 2014 Big Ten Championship match on Nov. 16, Maryland beat the Hoosiers, 2-1, on a goal in the 86^thminute.

FIVE HOOSIERS EARN ALL-BIG TEN HONORS
• Tanner Thompson was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year, as well as First-Team All-Big Ten. Joining Thompson on the first-team all-conference squad were both Femi Hollinger-Janzen and Grant Lillard.
• Andrew Gutman was named Second-Team All-Big Ten, as well as to the All-Freshman Team, where he was joined by Francesco Moore. Hollinger-Janzen was Indiana's Sportsmanship Award honoree.
• IU was the only school to have three first-team all-conference selections and was one of just two programs with multiple all-rookie selections (Maryland).

BIG TEN TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• IU has won 12 Big Ten Tournament titles, sharing the 1995 crown with Wisconsin. The 12 titles are the most for any program and nine more than the next three schools.
• All-time, Indiana has the most wins (30) and has the best winning percentage of any school in the Big Ten Tournament (.728).
• Indiana has also been crowned regular season champion 14 times, including nine-straight seasons from 1996-2004. IU won back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007 and re-claimed the regular season crown in 2010.

700 WINS
• With a 1-0 win over Wisconsin on Oct. 31, Indiana men's soccer became just the fifth program in Division I history to amass 700 victories.
• With the win, the Hoosiers became the fastest program to reach the milestone, taking just 953 matches.
• Currently, UCLA was previously the fastest team to win 700 matches, taking 962 games.
• Indiana joined Virginia, Maryland, Saint Louis and UCLA in the 700-win club.

INDIANA IN THE RPI RANKINGS
• In the latest RPI rankings released by the NCAA on Monday, the Indiana Hoosiers moved up four spots to No. 22 in the nation.
• Indiana is the second-highest ranked Big Ten team in the RPI this week behind only Ohio State at No. 11.
• In total, there are seven Big Ten teams ranked in the top-60 of the NCAA RPI rankings this week.

HOOSIERS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
• In the NCAA rankings released on Friday, Indiana ranks seventh in the nation in shots per game (17.06), 14th in shutout percentage (0.50) and 21st in team goals against average (0.74).
• Individually, Tanner Thomson ranks 15th in total assists (9) and 19th in assists per game (0.50).
• Colin Webb ranks 26th in goals against average (0.741) and 29th in goalie minutes played (1700:28).
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen ranks 21st in the country in shots per game (3.56).

HOOSIERS IN THE NATIONAL POLLS
• In the latest NSCAA Coaches rankings, the Indiana Hoosiers are ranked No. 22 in the nation.
• IU is ranked No. 20 by College Soccer News and No. 22 by Top Drawer Soccer.

WEBB IN GOAL
• Colin Webb continued his strong play on the season, posting his seventh shutout in the last 11 matches for the Hoosiers against Wisconsin on Nov. 8.
• The seven clean sheets pushed the junior's total to nine this season and his career total to 19.

IU IN THE BIG TEN RANKINGS
• In the Big Ten statistics released on Thursday, IU ranks second in the league in goals (28), assists (30) points (86) and first in shots (307).
• Individually, Tanner Thompson leads the conference with nine assists, while Colin Webb is tied for the league lead with nine shutouts on the year.
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen is third in the conference with eight goals and ranks second in the league in shots with 64.
