Houser, Tucker Earn Big Ten Weekly Honors

CHICAGO – After helping the Hoosiers defeat Wisconsin this past Friday, Indiana University diver Lacey Houser and swimmer Miranda Tucker earned weekly Big Ten honors on Wednesday, the league office announced.
Houser was named Big Ten Diver of the Week, while Tucker was named co-Freshman of the Week. The accolade is the first for Houser and the second for Tucker, who was named also named co-Rookie of the Week on Oct. 21.
Against the Badgers, Houser won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with NCAA Zones qualifying scores, pushing her individual victory total to six.
In the 1-meter, Houser won with a career-best score of 325.13, ranking her as the eighth-best 1-meter diver in IU history. In the 3-meter, the Danville, Ind. native totaled a season-best score of 362.25 to claim the win.
Tucker continued her terrific rookie campaign against Wisconsin, winning a pair of individual races.
Tucker earned her first of two wins against the Badgers in the 200 LCM breaststroke, touching the wall with a winning time of 2:32.41, ranking her fourth all-time in IU history. The Plymouth, Mich. product also won the 200 LCM individual medley with a time of 2:21.75.
