Hoosiers Fall on the Road at No. 6 Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Freshman Elizabeth Asdell led the Hoosiers with a career-high 12 kills, but Indiana dropped a three set match at No. 6 Nebraska (25-16, 25-19, 25-19) on Wednesday at the Devaney Center.
Asdell tallied 12 kills on 19 swings with two errors to hit .526 for the match. Junior Allison Hammond posted nine kills and senior Awele Nwaeze contributed seven kills.
Senior libero Courtney Harnish dug 15 balls and moved into seventh place on the Hoosiers all-time list for career digs. Harnish now has 1,070 for her career.
The Hoosiers jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the first set, but made eight errors to allow Nebraska to win the opening set 25-16.
In set two the Hoosiers (15-14, 5-12) played much better offensively with 15 kills and four errors and hit .314 in the set. Nebraska didn't make an error in the set and hit .469 to win the second set, 25-19 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Nebraska hit .290 in the third set and forced Indiana into eight attack errors to close out the match.
Up next the Hoosiers travel to No. 18 Illinois on Saturday Nov. 21 for an 8:00 p.m. ET match.
