Hoosier freshman Elijah Oliver snagged his second tournament championship of the season in thrilling fashion. Oliver picked up a 23-7 tech fall in the first round, followed by a 14-4 major decision in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, Oliver faced a rematch against Pittsburgh's Jake Gromacki in the semifinals; a matchup Oliver took 12-1 in the last meeting. Oliver won again, this time in a tight 5-2 decision to advance to the championship. In the championship bout, Oliver took a narrow 5-4 decision over Pittsburgh's LJ Bentley.
Heading into the upcoming Big Ten dual competition, Oliver has a 21-4 record with 8 major decisions, three tech falls, and three pins.
Nate Jackson continued his strong start to the 2015-16 campaign with a LHU Classic Championship. In addition to the four champions, two Hoosiers earned third-place finishes due to strong showings in the wrestle-backs. He returned with two decision wins, including a third-place bout win over Tejon Anthony (George Mason).
