Indiana Postgame Notes vs. IPFW
Dec. 9, 2015
• With the win the Hoosiers won their 100th game since the start of the 2011-12 season. It is the first time IU has notched 100 wins in a similar span since 1999-2004 when IU won 101 games in five full seasons.
• Senior Kevin Yogi Ferrell dished out five assists and passed 500 assists for his career. Farrell now has 502 career assists and moved into third on the Hoosiers all-time list for career assists, passing Tom Coverdale. Next on the list is Quinn Buckner with 542.
• Ferrell posted a career-high 38 points for the game and moved into 14th on the Hoosiers all-time list for career scoring. He now has 1,552 points and is 39 points from passing Greg Graham for 13th on the list.
• The 38 points scored by Ferrell are the most since sophomore James Blackmon Jr., posted 33 against Alcorn State (11/30/15) and is the most for an individual in a game in the Tom Crean Era.
• Blackmon Jr. and Ferrell are now the seventh set of teammates to score 30 points or more in a game in NCAA Division I this season.
• The 38 points scored by Ferrell is the most at Assembly Hall by an IU player since Steve Alford set the record with 42 points against Michigan State (2/4/87). This is tied for the fifth most by any IU player at Assembly Hall (building opened in 1970-71 season).
• Ferrell made 12-of-18 field goals in the game, the first time an IU player has made 12 or more field goals since Will Sheehey made 13 against Iowa (2/27/14).
• Ferrell connected on 10-of-10 from the free-throw line in the game. This is the first time a player has been perfect at the line with 10 attempts since Christian Watford against Sam Houston State (11/15/12).
• Junior Troy Williams grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds for the Hoosiers. The 19 rebounds are the most for an IU player since Cody Zeller (19) against Central Connecticut State on Dec. 8, 2012. Williams had 13 rebounds in the first half to match the total of all IPFW players combined.
• The Hoosiers outrebounded IPFW 51-28. Indiana has outrebounded opponents in seven of 10 games this season. The 51 rebounds ties a season high (Eastern Illinois).
• Sophomore Robert Johnson tied a career-high with five three-pointers and scored 16 points. Johnson shot 5-of-5 from three-point range, becoming the first Hoosier to go perfect from beyond the arc with at least five attempts since Devan Dumes vs. Iowa (2/4/09).
• The Hoosiers shot 29-of-56 from the field (51.8 percent). It is the seventh game this season IU has shot 50 percent or better.
• Indiana shot over 50 percent for both halves and have shot 50 percent or better in 14 of 20 halves this season.
• The Hoosiers connected on 15-of-19 (78.9 percent) from the free-throw line in the first half. It's the second consecutive game the Hoosiers have made at least 15 free-throws in the first half.
• Indiana shot a season best 76.5 percent from the free-throw line (23-of-30).
• Redshirt senior Max Bielfeldt scored 11 points off the bench. It's the ninth time in 10 games an Indiana player has scored in double digits off the bench. Bielfeldt also grabbed eight rebounds.
• After IPFW closed the Indiana lead to four at 31-27 at the 7:23 mark of the first half, the Hoosiers used a 13-2 run over the next 3:28 to increased their lead to 15 at 44-29 with 3:55 to play in the period.
• Williams posted a double-double with 15 points and 19 rebounds. Williams also tallied a career-high with five blocks.
• Freshmen Harrison Niego played a season-high 12 minutes and tallied season bests in rebounds with four and assists with one.
