RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- The Indiana University women's golf team remains in ninth place through two rounds of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Indiana posted a 304 on Monday to sit in ninth place with a 36-hole score of 605 (301-304). Arkansas remains atop the leaderboard (585), followed by Iowa State (587), LSU (588), Kent State (591) and TCU/Northwestern (595) in the top five.
Senior Elizabeth Tong continued her steady play, posting another 1-over 73 in round two to sit tied for 10th in the field (73-73). Tong had three birdies on the day, including the par-5 fourth hole.
Junior Camille Chevalier sits one stroke back from Tong, tied for 12th after a 2-over 74 on Monday (73-74). After opening the round with a bogey, Chevalier got on a hot streak with four-straight birdies on holes 13 through 16. She was at -3 through the first seven holes but was undone by a bogey on 17 and a double on 18. After a double bogey on one, she stayed clean for the rest of the round with pars.
Sophomore Ana Sanjuan is tied for 41st with a 78 in round two (75-78). Sanjuan had 11 holes of par or better, with a birdie on the par-4 13th hole.
Junior Maria Mancini and freshman Pear Siriko are both tied for 73rd, with Mancini carding an 83 (80-83) and Siriko a 79 (84-79) today. Siriko's first birdie of her collegiate career came on her final hole of the round, the par-5 11th hole.
Play in the 15-team tournament wraps up Tuesday morning with a final round start time of 6:30 a.m. ET.
