Nick Ramos Earns B1G Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Indiana junior infielder Nick Ramos earned his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award for his efforts in IU's season-opening series win at No. 18 Stanford.
After three games, Ramos leads the team in batting average (.429), slugging percentage (.571) and on-base percentage (.545), is tied for first with three walks and ranks second with three RBI.
Two of Ramos' RBI came in the opener, a 4-2 win, including a single in the eighth inning to give IU a 4-1 cushion.
In Saturday's series-clincher, Ramos' single loaded the bases in the fourth inning, allowing the Hoosiers to score a run in a game they won 4-3.
The Tampa, Fla., native recorded IU's first double of the season on Sunday, scored his first run and added his third RBI of the weekend.
Ramos' recognition marks Indiana's 17th weekly conference honor since 2013. The Hoosiers earned 11 such accolades in 2014 and five in 2013.
