SETTING THE SCENE • The Hoosiers head to the Big Ten Championships ranked 11th in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll and on a six-meet win streak.
• Indiana has won the Big Ten title three of the last six years, finishing second in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
NEWS AND NOTES • The Hoosiers went 7-3 in dual meets this season, including victories in the final six dual meets of the year.
• Their only losses came at the hands of No. 6 Texas, No. 8 Auburn and No. 15 Michigan. All three losses came back in October. • Indiana has won five of the last 12 Big Ten championships dating back to the 2002-03 season.
HOW THE HOOSIERS STACK UP
• Kennedy Goss owns the top time in the Big Ten in the 200 free this season at 1:44.87. Right behind her in second is Haley Lips at 1:45.05. • Goss has the second-fastest time in the 500 free at 4:38.35, with Lips fourth (4:39.98). Lips ranks third in the 1,650 free (16:09.88).
• Brooklynn Snodgrass' time of 51.59 in the 100 back is tops in the Big Ten, with Justine Ress fourth at 53.03. Goss is fifth with a seed time of 53.27. • Snodgrass is also tops in the 200 back at 1:51.22. Goss ranks third (1:52.41) and Cynthia Pammett fifth (1:55.34). Ress (6th-1:55.57) and Marie Chamberlain (9th-1:56.83) also rank among the top 10.
• Gia Dalesandro has the fastest time in the 200 fly at 1:56.33, with Bailey Pressey third (1:57.13). Dalesandro is the top-ranked Hoosier in the 100 fly, sixth in the Big Ten at 53.45. • Snodgrass comes in with the fifth-fastest time in the 200 IM (1:59.62), while Pressey ranks seventh in the 400 IM (4:15.06).
• Grace Vertigans ranks 10th in the 50 free with her time of 22.86. Her 49.50 in the 100 free ranks ninth. • Indiana is the top seed in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:05.21. It is also the third seed in the 400 freestyle relay (3:17.38), sixth in the 400 medley relay (3:40.20), sixth in the 200 free relay (1:31.64) and sixth in the 200 medley relay (1:40.71).
RECORD SETTERS
• Brooklynn Snodgrass is the Big Ten record holder in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.05, set at the 2014 NCAA Championships. • Gia Dalesandro set the new conference record of 1:53.95 in the 200 butterfly at the 2014 Big Ten Championships.
• Lindsay Vrooman, Cynthia Pammett, Haley Lips and Brooklynn Snodgrass hold the Big Ten and Big Ten meet record in the 800 freestyle relay (6:59.48). • Snodgrass, Bronwyn Pasloski, Gia Dalesandro and Kait Flederbach set the new conference record of 3:30.30 in the 400 medley relay at last year's Big Ten Championships.

BIG TEN HONORS HOOSIERS SWIMMERS
• Brooklynn Snodgrass has four Big Ten Swimmer of the Week awards, while Kennedy Goss has been named Freshman of the Week three times. • Jessica Parratto has taken home two Big Ten Diver of the Week awards, with one for Lacey Houser.
CSCAA RANKINGS
• In the most recent women's College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) rankings, the Indiana women come in at No. 15. • Minnesota is No. 14, followed by No. 17 Michigan, No. 21 Purdue, No. 22 Ohio State and No. 24 Wisconsin.
LAST TIME IN THE POOL...
• The 13th-ranked IU women posted a 170-130 win over No. 18 Louisville on Jan. 30. • Marie Chamberlain, Claudia Di Capua, Gia Dalesandro and Ali Rockett took second in the 200 medley relay in 1:43.64.
• It was a 1-2-3 Hoosier finish in the 1,000 free with Stephanie Marchuk winning in 10:00.49. Haley Lips took second (10:03.72) and Dorina Szekeres third (10:09.30). • Indiana added a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free with Lips (1:47.59), Kennedy Goss (1:48.24) and Grace Vertigans (1:49.25).
• Brooklynn Snodgrass led a 1-2-3-4 finish for IU in the 100 back, winning in 53.44. Justine Ress was second (55.64), Chamberlain third (55.70) and Allie Day fourth (56.51). • Sam Lisy was the top finisher for IU in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.95.
• Reagan Cook led the way in the 200 butterfly, taking second in 1:59.46. Bailey Pressey was third with a time of 2:00.34. • Snodgrass was the first Hoosier to the wall in the 50 free in 22.31, with Vertigans third (23.47) and Rockett fourth (23.51).
• It was 1-2 for the IU divers on the 3-meter with Jessica Parratto first (342.69) and Lacey Houser second (333.00). It was the same order on the 1-meter with Parrato scoring 316.95 points and Houser 307.35. • Swimming started back up with the 100 free as Vertigans took second in 51.03.
• It went 1-2-3 Indiana in the 200 backstroke with Snodgrass (1:54.10), Goss (1:58.87) and Day (2:00.71). • Lisy led Indiana in the 200 breaststroke, taking fourth in 2:22.39.
• A 1-2-3 showing in the 500 free was led by Lips in 4:52.88. Goss took second (4:54.69) and Marchuk third (4:55.34). • Barker (55.26) and Dalesandro (55.48) went 2-3 in the 100 butterfly. Lisy took second in the 400 IM (4:19.42) and Pressey third (4:21.30).
• Indiana put a stamp on its win over Louisville with a victory in the 400 free relay as Goss, Rockett, Vertigans and Snodgrass combined for a time of 3:21.98.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONS • Several Hoosiers picked up national titles at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals Championships and the USA Diving Winter Nationals. • Brooklynn Snodgrass was crowned a national champion in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 800 free relay at the USA Swimming event in December.
• Joining her as a national titlist in the 800 free relay were Haley Lips, Cynthia Pammett and Kennedy Goss. • At the USA Diving Winter Nationals, Jessica Parratto won gold in the platform competition and earned another title alongside former Hoosier Amy Cozad in the synchro platform event.
SNODGRASS WINS INTERNATIONAL MEDALS
• It was a busy summer in the pool for junior Brooklynn Snodgrass as she represented her native Canada at a pair of international meets. • Snodgrass picked up a bronze medal in the 50-meter backstroke at the Commonwealth Games with a Canadian record time of 27.97.
• At the Pan Pacific Championships in August, Snodgrass took home another bronze, this one as part of Canada's 400 medley relay team.
HOOSIERS PLACE SECOND AT 2014 BIG TENS • The Indiana women finished second at the 2014 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held Feb. 19-22 at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
• IU tallied 649 points. Minnesota was crowned champion with 760 points. • Hoosiers took home Big Ten titles in the 200 medley relay, 500 freestyle, 400 medley relay, 100 backstroke, 1,650 free, 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly.
• Senior Lindsay Vrooman defended her titles in the 500 freestyle (4:36.91) and 1,650 freestyle (15:55.20). • Sophomore Brooklynn Snodgrass made it two years in a row with a backstroke sweep, taking the 100 back in 51.65 and the 200 back in 1:51.43.
• Freshman Gia Dalesandro made a name for herself with a 200 butterfly title, setting a new Big Ten record with a time of 1:53.95. She was also second in the 100 fly with a school record time of 51.75. • Snodgrass, Bronwyn Pasloski, Dalesandro and Kait Flederbach won the 200 medley relay with a new school record of 1:36.69.
• They teammed up again in the 400 medley relay to set a new Big Ten record with a winning time of 3:30.30. • Dalesandro was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year for her efforts, joining Sndograss as back-to-back Hoosier winners.
• Flederbach posted the second-fastst time in IU history in the 50 free with her leadoff leg of 22.40 in the 200 freestyle relay. IU would go on to finish third. • Flederbach added a school record in the 100 freestyle with a 48.54, finishing third.
• Kate Hillman earned a silver medal in the platform competition with a career-best score of 322.25, as well as a sixth-place finish on the 1-meter springboard with a career-best score of 321.60. • Pasloski went a career best 59.53 in the 100 breaststroke prelims and went on to finish second with a time of 59.90.
• IU had five of the top eight finishers in the 200 backstroke, with a 1-2-3-4 sweep led by Snodgrass. Allie Day took second (1:54.67), Cynthia Pammet third (1:55.20) and Justine Ress fourth (1:55.27). Dorina Szekeres was seventh in 1:56.30.
IU FINISHES 12th AT 2014 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS • The IU women finished with 118 points for a 12th-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
• Sophomore Brooklynn Snodgrass became just the second female swimmer in IU history to win an NCAA title, winning the 200 backstroke in a loaded field with a time of 1:50.52. Snodgrass was also fourth in the 100 back, setting a new Big Ten record with a time of 51.05. • Senior Lindsay Vrooman posted top-five finishes in her two specialties, the 500 free and 1,650 free. Vrooman was fourth in the 500 free with a time of 4:36.02, while her fifth-place time of 15:44.45 in the 1,650 free is a new Big Ten record.
• Senior Kate Hillman capped off her IU career with a 10th-place finish on the platform, tallying a score of 307.20. • Senior Bronwyn Pasloski took ninth in the 100 breaststroke, setting a new school record of 59.39.
• Senior Brenna MacLean also capped her career on a high note, taking 13th in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.44. • The 400 medley relay team of Snodgrass, Pasloski, Gia Dalesandro and Kait Flederbach came in 9th with a time of 3:30.56.
INDIANA AT THE NCAA MEET
• The Hoosiers have produced five NCAA champions, three of whom have come in the last five NCAA meets. • Kimiko Hirai was the first female NCAA Champion for IU, winning the 1-meter springboard at the 1996 NCAA Championships.
• Cassandra Cardinell won the NCAA platform title in 2005. • Christina Loukas continued IU's strong diving tradition with an NCAA Championship title in the 3-meter springboard in 2009. •
In 2010, Kate Fesenko became the first NCAA Champion in a swimming event for IU, winning the 200 backstroke. • Brooklynn Snodgrass became the second Hoosier swimmer to win an NCAA title, winning the 200 backstroke at the 2014 NCAA meet.
• The Hoosiers have posted three top-10 finishes in the last seven years (2008, 09, 10) and four overall. • Indiana best showing at the national meet came in 2008-09 when it posted 152 points.
