Golf Finishes 11th at Westbrook Invitational

PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Indiana women's golf team finished in 11th place at the 54-hole Westbrook Spring Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona.
Indiana posted its best round of the tournament on Monday with a 292, totaling 888 for the tournament (296-300-292). Tennessee won the event with a score of 851, followed by Oregon (854), Notre Dame (868), College of Charleston (868) and Ohio State (870) in the top five.
Ana Sanjuan posted her best round of the season on Monday, carding a 2-under 70 to finish tied for 22nd at 218 (75-73-70). Sanjuan had four birdies on the day and was -4 through the first 12 holes of play.
Camille Chevalier tied for 33rd, finishing with a 1-over 73 (72-76-73/221). Four strokes back from Chevalier was Pear Siriko, posting her third round of 75 in the tournament to place tied for 54th (75-75-75/225). Siriko had three birdies on the day but had one costly error on the course with a triple bogey on the par-5 17th hole.
Elizabeth Tong closed with her best round of the tournament, posting a 2-over 74 and finishing tied for 59th (76-76-74/226). It was a steady round for Tong with 16 holes of par.
Rounding out Indiana's five scorers, Maria Mancini tied for 72nd with an 80 (74-77-80/231). Theresa-Ann Jedra competed as an individual, matching her low round of the season with a 74 Monday to finish tied for 75th (78-80-74/232).
The team returns to tournament action March 9-10 at the Bay Area Intercollegiate in San Francisco, California.
