BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University junior swimmer Brooklynn Snodgrass is the Big Ten co-Swimmer of the Week, while freshman diver Jessica Parratto earned Diver of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Snodgrass picked up the ninth Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award in her career thanks to her performance in Indiana's 170-130 dual meet win over Louisville last Friday. The 2014 NCAA Champion remained undefeated in the backstroke this season, winning the 100 back in 53.44 and 200 back in 1:54.10. Both are NCAA provisional times. She also anchored the victorious 400 freestyle relay (3:21.98) and added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (23.31).
Parratto is the Diver of the Week for the second time this season, picking up a sweep of the 1-meter and 3-meter events against the Cardinals. She tallied 316.95 points in her 1-meter victory, and recorded a season-best 342.68 points in winning the 3-meter competition.
The Indiana women and men have completed their dual meet season for 2014-15 and are now focused on preparations for the Big Ten Championships. The women compete Feb. 18-21 in Columbus, Ohio, while the men's championship takes place Feb. 25-28 in Iowa City, Iowa.
