Freshman Jennifer Beadle led the Hoosiers with four goals, a season high for her. Other Hoosier scorers were freshman Sarah Myers (3), sophomore Ellie Stott (2), junior Candyce Schroeder (2), senior Rebecca Gerrity (2), freshman Sarah Young (2), senior Summer Creighton, senior Shelby Taylor, freshman Kelly Matthews, senior Alexis Jones and sophomore Bronwyn Smith. In total 11 different Hoosiers contributed on the offensive end.
Indiana got out to a quick start with four goals in just over four minutes to start the game. The Hoosiers would add a fifth and McNaught would dish out an assist to Shroeder to give Indiana a 6-0 lead mid way through the second quarter. The first half lead would jump to as many as seven as IU would lead 8-1 and 9-2 to end the half.
Much like the first quarter, the Hoosiers would again shut out the Wildcats in the third. Indiana led 14-2 going into the final period. In the final period, Indiana would have their best offensive quarter of the game, scoring six goals. The Hoosiers came away with a dominating 20-3 victory.
The Hoosier water polo team will be in action again in two weekends, on February 21. They will play three games in Santa Clara, California -- the first against host Santa Clara (12 pm ET). Later in the afternoon, Indiana will play Cal State East Bay (3 pm ET) and Cal State Monterey Bay (6 pm ET).
