FAIRFAX, Calif. -- The Indiana University women's golf team shot a final round 297 to finish tied for 11th at the Bay Area Intercollegiate at Meadow Club in Fairfax, California.
Indiana posted a score of 905 over the 48-hole tournament (296-312-297). Washington won the team title with a score of 834.
For the second time in as many tournaments Ana Sanjuan led the Hoosiers, posting a 73 on Tuesday to place tied for 33rd with a 224 (73-77-74). Sanjuan posted three birdies in the round, with all three coming on consecutive holes on 14, 15 and 16.
Senior Elizabeth Tong was just two strokes back, placing tied for 41st at 226 (73-79-74). Tong has two birdies on the day with a three on the par-4 16 and a two on the par-3 eighth hole.
Also carding a 226 to finish tied for 41st was freshman Pear Siriko (75-77-74). Siriko had 14 holes of par or better, including a birdie on the par-4 third hole.
Junior Camille Chevalier finished tied for 51st with a three-round tally of 229 (75-79-75). Chevalier's 3-over final round score included back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15.
Rounding out the Indiana lineup was junior Maria Mancini, finishing 67th (78-82-81/241). Mancini's fourth birdie of the tournament came on the par-5 first hole in the final round.
Indiana returns to play March 23-24 at the Briar's Creek Invitational in John's Island, South Carolina.
