Senior Elizabeth Tong tied her season low with a 68 in the final round, posting a season-best seven birdies and finishing fifth (74-74-68/216). It is Tong's third top-10 finish this season. Starting the round on the seventh hole, Tong was 1-over after five holes with a double bogey on the par-4 11th hole. After a bogey on 17 put her at +2, Tong turned her fortunes by going -6 over the final seven holes with three-straight birdies to end the day.
Junior Camille Chevalier posted her lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 2-over 74 to place tied for 52nd (80-76-74). Chevalier had just one birdie on the day but kept her play simple with 15 pars and no double bogeys.
Sophomore Ana Sanjuan also tied for 52nd with an even-par 72 on Tuesday (81-77-72). Sanjuan nearly matched Tong's birdie total with five, including back-to-back birdies on eight and nine to open the round. She also carded two straight on 18 and one for her third round of even par or better this season.
Freshman Pear Siriko was the third Hoosiers golfer to place tied for 52nd with a 75 on the final day (82-73-75). Siriko had three birdies in the round but was tripped up by double bogeys on 11 and 18.
Junior Maria Mancini rounded out the Hoosiers' starting five, finishing tied for 76th (82-80-75). Mancini's best round of the tournament came on Tuesday as she posted a 3-over 75. Her steady play featured 15 holes of par and her first double bogey-free round of the tournament.
Competing as an individual, senior Kamryn Klawitter finished tied for 84th in the field with a score of 243 (83-81-79).
The Hoosiers will play next at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational, April 18-19 in Columbus, Ohio. That will be the final competition before the 2015 Big Ten Championships The Fort Golf Resort in Ft. Harrison State Park in Indianapolis.
