Hoosiers Secure Road Win at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The No. 41 Indiana men's tennis team earned a split on the weekend, by picking up a 4-2 win at No. 50 Penn State on Sunday the Sarni Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers (15-9, 4-4) No. 1 doubles team gave Indiana a quick 8-3 victory and a victory from senior Sven Lalic and freshman Raheel Manji at the No. 3 spot (8-4) gave the Hoosiers the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
After they teamed up for the win at No. 1 doubles, juniors Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk picked up straight set wins in singles to put the Hoosiers up 3-0.
Penn State fought back and won two matches, including a three-set battle at the No. 6 position, to cut the Hoosier lead to 3-2.
After dropping his first set at No. 3 singles, it was senior Sven Lalic, who battled back to take set two by a score of 6-4 and force a tiebreak for the winner take all third set. Lalic delivered with a 7-5 tiebreak win, to take the third set and give the Hoosiers the 4-2 win.
