NEWBURGH, Ind. -- After an hour and 45 minute frost delay in the morning, not all of the teams were able to complete 36 holes on the first day of the Big Ten Championship at Victoria National Golf Club.

At the end of the first round, the Indiana men's golf team was in 10th place with a team score of 299 (+11).

A trio of individuals - Nicholas Grubnich, Keegan Vea andWill Seger - all posted a round of 2-over par 74 to open the tournament. Max Kollin was the fourth score that counted, registering a 77 (+5) in his first round. The fifth score was Brendon Doyle's 85 that was not used.

Play was officially suspended for the day at 8:20 p.m. ET. Teams that need to complete their second rounds will start again at 9:00 a.m. ET on Saturday while third round play will start at 9:30 a.m. ET with the team times remaining the same as the first two rounds.

When play was suspended, Indiana was in 11th place, with all five players having played at least nine holes in their second round while some had played as many as 12 holes.

Grubnich played his first nine holes in 2-over par and then leveled off on this second nine holes to record two birdies and two bogeys to give him his score of 74.

Seger had an adventurous start to his round, as he logged two double bogeys, one bogey and three birdies over his first seven holes. He would rally to play steady golf over the remainder of his round and finish with a 74.

Vea was able to avoid the big number and record four bogeys and two birdies on his solid first round 74.

Kollin opened with a double bogey on his first hole and then had a bogey and another double bogey on his first nine holes to go out in 5-over. But, like Grubnich, he played his second nine holes at even par to finish with a 77.

Doyle was battling in his first round, sitting at 5-over par through his first 11 holes. But he recorded a 12 on his 12th hole (hole No. 3) and was not able to recover on his way to a score of 85 in round one.
