Hoosiers Conclude 121st Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA -- The Indiana track and field team wrapped up competition at the 121st Penn Relays Saturday at Franklin Field.
In the men's 4XMile Championship of America, the Hoosiers finished in eighth-place in a time of 16:28.57 for the team of Josh Roche, Matthew Schwartzer, Kyle Duvall and Owen Skeete.
Senior Samantha Gwin anchored home in 2:08.85 to help the IU women to a seventh-place finish in the 4X800m Championship of America. The Indiana men finished in 11th place in the men's 4X800m Championship of America. Freshman Daniel Kuhn ran the best split for the team at 1:49.28.
At the Drake Relays freshman Eric Claxton finished second in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 8:57.67. That time will move him into 29th in the NCAA East Region in the event.
Next up the Hoosiers will host the Billy Hayes Invitational on Saturday May 2 at Billy Hayes Track.
