Arndt Qualifies for Nationals; Miller Makes Splash

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University junior diver Joshua Arndt punched his ticket to the national meet after a strong performance this past weekend at the USA Diving National Preliminary Zone C Championships, held at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington.
Arndt qualified on the 3-meter after placing fourth in the event at the Zone C Championships with a score of 355.70. Cody Coldren just missed out on a qualifying spot, placing sixth with a score of 319.00.
On Sunday Arndt earned his spot on the 1-meter, finishing third in the field with a score of 329.65. Coldren was once again just outside the qualifying spots, placing sixth with a score of 303.95.
Arndt is now qualified to compete at the 2015 AT&T USA Diving National Championships, August 1-13 in Orlando, Florida.
At the Arena Pro Swim Series at Santa Clara, former Indiana All-American Cody Miller had a strong meet in preparation for his participation at the FINA World Championships next month in Kazan, Russia.
Miller won the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke events, clocking personal bests in each event. His winning time of 59.51 in the 100 breaststroke tops his old PR of 59.91 set at last year's national championships. Miller's time from this weekend ranks him third in the world this year in the event.
After his blazing 100 breast, Miller followed up with a victory in the 200 breaststroke with another personal best, this one coming in at 2:09.71, the first sub-2:10 swim of his career. That moves him up to 13th in the world.
