Connor 11th at World Championships

KAZAN, Russia — Indiana University sophomore diver James Connor finished 11th in the men's 3-meter springboard final on Friday at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia.
Diving for his native Australia, Connor posted a score of 422.35 over his six-dive list. It was the third top-12 finish in as many events for Connor at the meet as he also placed 12th in the synchro platform and synchro 3-meter events.
Connor will compete in the men's platform preliminary round tomorrow.
At the Speedo Junior National Championships Thursday night, incoming freshman Miranda Tucker won the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:08.32. That is the third-fastest time in IU history. Tucker and fellow IU freshman Lilly King have combined to post the five-fastest times in school history in the 100 breaststroke this summer.
In the men's 100-meter breaststroke race, freshman Ian Finnerty touched the wall fourth in a time of 1:03.05.
This morning's prelim session saw incoming freshman Shelly Drozda earn a spot in the C final of the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:17.54. She also went 5:01.47 in the 400-meter individual medley. Tucker went 58.50 in her 100 freestyle prelim swim, while Finnerty clocked a 51.93.
