MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Senior Amelia Anderson led four players with double digit kills with 26 and junior Allison Hammond tallied a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs as the Hoosiers won their first match of the season with a 3-2 win against Bowling Green.

The Hoosiers (1-0) playing in the Blue Raider Bash at Middle Tennessee State got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the match, but Bowling Green came back with 25-21 wins in sets two and three to force a fifth set.

With the score tied 7-7 in set five, Anderson recorded back-to-back kills to put IU up 9-7. Freshman Elizabeth Asdell scored on one of her 10 kills on match point to give the Hoosiers the victory.

Senior Courtney Harnish recorded 19 digs and Kyndall Merritt had 13 digs. Also in double-digit kills was junior Jazzmine McDonald with 13 kills and a .632 hitting percentage.

Up next the Hoosiers take on Cleveland State, who beat Middle Tennessee State 3-0 in the first match of the tournament. The match of Indiana and Cleveland State is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. ET start.
