Day Two of Hoosier Classic In The Books

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Day two of the Hoosier Classic saw the Indiana women's tennis team carry over its momentum from the first day, as they picked up six more singles wins and a pair of doubles wins on the day.
Paula Gutierrez continued her strong play with a 6-2, 6-2 win in her singles match on Saturday while redshirt senior Sarah McLean posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Antonella Bramato from Cincinnati.
Freshmen Madison Appel needed a third set to take down Mathilde Orange (CSU), as did junior Kim Schmider to defeat Denis Azcui from Western Michigan.
Natalie Whalen and Sarah Baron both logged wins in two sets to advance to Sunday's final day of competition as well.
On the doubles side, Stephanie Smith and Danielle Wolf teamed up for a 6-3 win in their third round doubles match and were joined in the win column by the teams of Schmider/Whalen and Appell/McLean.
In fourth round doubles matches, McLean and Appel cruised to a 6-1 win and Gutierrez and Wolf won by a 6-2 margin.
The final day of the Hoosier Classic will take place at the outdoor courts at the IU Tennis Center on Sunday.
