Hoosiers Face Saint Louis on Wednesday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's soccer team will hit the road to play Saint Louis on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.

SETTING?THE?SCENE
• After posting a second-straight shutout in a 1-0 win at Northwestern on Sunday, Indiana will look to win it's third-straight match on Wednesday at Saint Louis.
• In non-conference play, IU has posted a record of 4-1-1, with wins coming over Evansville, No. 24 South Florida, UAB and St. John's.
• With the win at Northwestern on Sunday, the Hoosiers improved to 1-2-0 in Big Ten play.
NEWS AND NOTES
• In the first RPI rankings released by the NCAA on Sept. 28, the Hoosiers were ranked No. 45 in the nation. The ranking was the third-best of the Big Ten schools, behind only Michigan (40) and Maryland (44).
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen was named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. From the list of 30 candidates, a national media committee will select ten finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award in October.
• Indiana sports one of the nation's youngest rosters in 2015 with 20 underclassmen on the team. The Hoosiers are tied for the ninth-youngest team in the country and rank as the youngest squad in the Big Ten.
• Despite the youth, Indiana returns 21 players from last year's roster, including 19 letterwinners from a year ago.
SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS
• Saint Louis enters Wednesday's match with the Hoosiers with an overall record of 4-2 on the season, including a 2-1 mark at Hermann Stadium.
• The Billikens have recorded wins over Tulsa, Memphis, No. 10 Louisville and Central Arkansas this year, with losses coming at No. 22 Akron and to No. 15 Denver.
• Prior to the season, Saint Louis was tabbed to win the Atlantic 10 after making the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago.
SERIES HISTORY
• In the overall series between the two schools dating back to 1975, the Hoosiers hold a 21-9-4 record over Saint Louis.
• Indiana has won four-straight matches against the Billikens, including a 3-1 win at Armstrong Stadium last year.
• In that match, the No. 16 Hoosiers upended No. 8 Saint Louis with three unanswered goals after allowing a SLU score just 14 seconds in to the match.
• Matt Foldesy, Tanner Thompson and Jamie Vollmer had goals in the victory for the Hoosiers last season.
GUTMAN'S GOLAZO
• Freshman defender Andrew Gutman made the most of his first collegiate goal, scoring the match winner for the Hooisers at Northwestern on Sept. 27.
• The goal was superb, as Gutman cracked a laser shot from 25-yards out on the left side, beating the Northwestern goalie to the top corner of the far post.
WEBB IN GOAL
• Colin Webb continued his strong play on the season, posting back-to-back shutouts in wins over Evansville and Northwestern.
• The two clean sheets pushed the junior's total to four this season and his career total to 14.
FEMI ON FIRE
• Femi Hollinger-Janzen is as hot as they come, scoring five goals over the course of the last six matches for the Hoosiers.
• The senior has four goals in his last four matches after scoring twice in IU's 3-0 win over Evansville on Sept. 23.
HOOSIERS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
• In the national rankings released on Monday, the Hoosiers rank ninth in the country in shots per game (16.56).
• Individually, Tanner Thompson ranks third in the country in total assists (6) and ninth in assists per game (0.67).
• Colin Webb ranks 14th in the nation in goalie minutes played (848:32), while Femi Hollinger-Janzen ranks 27th in total goals (5).
IU IN THE BIG TEN RANKINGS
• Entering the week, Femi Hollinger-Janzen ranks tied for the Big Ten lead in game-winning goals (2), second in shots (29), tied for third in points (10) and third in goals (5).
• Tanner Thompson continues to lead the conference in both assists (6) and assists per game (0.67).
• Goalkeeper Colin Webb ranks tied for first in the league with four shutouts and fourth in the conference in goals-against average at 0.95.
BIG TEN DOMINATION
• IU has won 12 Big Ten tournament titles, sharing the 1995 crown with Wisconsin.
• Indiana has also been crowned regular season champion 14 times, including nine-straight seasons from 1996-2004. IU won back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007 and re-claimed the regular season crown in 2010.
BUCKMASTER VS. BUTLER
• Freshman Rece Buckmaster made the most of his first collegiate start at Butler on Sept. 16, scoring his first career goal.
• Scoring goals is not new to Buckmaster, who helped lead Canterbury to a pair of state titles. The Auburn, Ind., native had a goal and an assist in the 2012 IHSAA state title game.
