Indiana will travel to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, January 16th. The winner of the meet will capture the traveling pennant seen in the picture. This will mark the first time this season that the Hoosiers will compete away from Galdstein Fieldhouse. Both the men's team and women's team have had great success against Purdue in recent years, as both teams have won five of six indoor meets.
Indiana's men's team will look to build on their team victory over Tennessee this past weekend. The Hoosiers had key contributions in many areas that led to the win. IU had victories in six events including the 60m hurdles, the 800m run, the mile run, the long jump, the high jump, and the shot put. The biggest highlight in those victories came in the 800m run when Daniel Kuhn set the conference and national best time with a 1:49.63.
The women's team found great success in the distance and field events in their tie with the Volunteers. Indiana had victories in the 800m run, the mile run, the 3,000m run, pole vault, weight throw, high jump, and triple jump. Nakel McClinton set the new school record in the weight throw with a distance of 20.60m.
The dual will begin at 1:00PM with the Women's long jump and weight throw. The meet will conclude with the men's 4x400m relay which begins at approximately 4:55PM.
