Track and Field Splits Dual with Purdue
The women's team fell to a tough Purdue team today by a score of 83-56. Coach Ron Helmer said he thought that the team competed hard, but they are young. He also thought that many positive things happened for both the women's and men's teams.
Sydney Clute took first in the pole vault with a new career high mark of 4.11m. That mark is fifth in school history and sixth best nationally. Nakel McClinton and Laura Schroeder finish 1-2 in the weight throw for the second consecutive meet.
Brittany Thomas took third in the 60m dash with a career best time of 7.56. She also scored points with a second place finish in the 200m dash, another career best time of 24.66. The men's team continued its winning ways with an 83-52 victory over Purdue. It was a complete team victory for the Hoosiers as many athletes contributed to the win.

Cornelius Strickland took first place in the 60m dash for the second time this season. Matt Schwartzer led the Hoosiers to a sweep in the mile run with a winning time of 4:09.07.
