King Named National Swimmer of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University swimmer Lilly King was named TeamUnify / CollegeSwimming.com Division I Swimmers-of-the-Week on Tuesday.
The honor is the first for King this season from CollegeSwimming.com. Previously, the freshman has been named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week twice and Big Ten Rookie of the Week once.
Last Saturday, King won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, helping the Hoosiers defeat Purdue, 185.5-114.5, at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind.
King's time of 1:00.23 is the season-best for the Evansville, Ind. native and ranks her as the fifth-best 100 breast stroke swimmer in school history. Her winning time of 2:12.60 in the 200 breast, like her time in the 100 breast, was also a NCAA B cut mark.
Indiana will wrap up the dual meet portion of the 2015-16 schedule on Friday, January 29 when the team will head south to face the Louisville Cardinals. The dual meet is scheduled for a 5 p.m. ET start.
