#IUXC Finishes Fifth at the Pre-National Invitational

Men's Pre-Nat Results Women's Pre-Nat Results

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The men's cross country team took fifth place at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute this afternoon. The team scored 255 points.

IU's runners clumped up to run a solid team race. Jason Crist was the top finisher, taking 31^st with a time of 24:35.2. Matt Schwartzer was the second Indiana runner finishing 37^th, Ben Veatch crossed in 38^th. Mark Chandler took 51^st and Bryce Millar finished 99^th to round out the Hoosier scoring.

The women's team finished 15^th, with 512 points, in a highly competitive field. Katherine Receveur was the top Hoosier runner. She finished just outside the top ten in 11^th with a time of 20:26.4. Brenna Calder, again, was the second fastest IU runner, taking 89^th. Maggie Allen finished 124^th, Haley Harris finished 133^rd and Chanli Mundy crossed 155^th for the Hoosiers.

On Friday evening, Corinne Cominator was the top finisher for the Hoosiers at the Bradley Classic. She came in 10^th with a time of 21:09.2. Grace Walther crossed in 24^th with a time of 21:17.0. Hannah Stoffel (73^rd), Olivia Hippensteel (136^th) and Alex Warzyniak (233^rd) rounded out the women's scoring. The team finished sixth with a total score of 233.

Carl Smith led the Hoosier charge in the men's race at the Bradley Classic. Smith took 20^th with a time of 24:58.6. Eric Claxton finished 23^rd, clocking in at 25:02.1. Jackson Bertoli (55^th), Bobby Browning (65^th) and Kyle Burks (68^th) completed the IU scoring, giving the Hoosiers a seventh place score of 231.

The Hoosiers will be back in action at the end of the month for the Big Ten Championships at Minnesota.
