Kong Paces Indiana Women’s Golf On Day One of Powerade Cougar Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior Alix Kong shot 1-under par as she paced Indiana in the opening round of the Powerade Cougar Classic at the Yeamans Hall Club on Sunday.
Kong's 71 put her in a tie for 21st overall, as she completed four birdies in the opening round. Senior Ana Sanjuan followed Kong with a 75 while freshman Elisa Pierre added a 76 (+4). As a team, the Hoosiers shot a collective 301 which put them into a tie for 18th place with Big Ten foe Wisconsin.
Furman (278) leads the 21 team field at the Cougar Classic, while North Carolina (281) and Wake Forest (282) round out the top three.
Senior Theresa-Ann Jedra (79) and junior Pear Siriko (83) rounded out play for the Hoosiers, who will play the second of three rounds (18 holes) tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
