Postgame Quotes

Overall thoughts on the game…
"We just have to get better from it. I can't say I'm totally surprised, but I have to do a better job. That's the bottom line – I have to do a better job with making sure everybody continues to understand just how far we have to go and how hard this is. That the will and the toughness you have to have on a daily level has to expand and has to continue to grow and never stays the same – it's either getting better or getting worse like a person's skills.
"We have respect for them. They have very good players. They have players that have played at this level and Mo Evans is certainly a high-major player, John Konchar – as I told him after the game – he was the toughest guy on the floor. Unfortunately, we knew that was a possibility. We knew it was a probability actually that he would be that tough and that aggressive and we never matched it. We just didn't play well enough.
"We took it to overtime, as I said to them, it's one of the oldest stories in the book. When you're getting a lot of praise and credit, you're never that good and we weren't because we're so young and have to continue to learn and get better. When you lose a game like this, you're not as bad as you think you are. Everything that we have to do is controllable and it starts with that energy and it starts with that maturity. They go hand in hand, and we didn't have enough of either tonight."
On Josh Newkirk and Zach McRoberts' play tonight…
"We had to have that. The bottom line is OG (Anunoby) was sick tonight, he started to get sick this afternoon and he could never get into the flow. We played a game like this with him really getting zeroes across the board, which we aren't used to now. Other guys had to step up. We took it to overtime. I thought we were well on our way to learning a valuable lesson and I still think we got the lesson, we just didn't get the result we wanted."
