17 IN A ROW
With a 3-0 mark inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall this season, IU continues to hold the program's longest home win streak. The Nov. 23 vs. UMass Lowell marked the 17th straight win on its home court, as the Hoosiers are coming off a 14-0 record at home in 2015-16. The 17-straight wins are also tied for the seventh-best active streak in the NCAA.
ROAD WIN
Indiana snapped a three-game skid on the road in Tuesday's victory at North Texas. Fueled by a tied for season-high 94 points, the Hoosiers rolled past the Mean Green 94-64. Four players scored in double figures including junior guard Tyra Buss's 21 points, a double-double from junior forward Amanda Cahill (15 points, 10 rebounds) along with 15 points from senior guard Alexis Gassion and 13 points off the bench from sophomore forward Kym Royster.
GOOD FROM THE FIELD
Shooting 64 percent from the floor in Tuesday's win over North Texas, Indiana shot one of the best single game field goal percentages in school history. It marks the best single game clip since Indiana shot 67.4 percent against Michigan State in 1998 and fourth behind a 64.6 percent performance against Kentucky in 1983. IU shot above 50 percent in every quarter of the win including a season-high 73 percent in the second quarter.
CLEAN THE GLASS
The Hoosiers dominated on the glass in Tuesday's win over North Texas, out-rebounding them 44-14. The 30-rebound advantage is the largest for IU since the record has been kept since 2008-09. It bested the previous high of 28 rebound advantage IU used against St. Louis in the 2008-09 season.
POINTS IN THE PAINT
Inside the paint on Tuesday, Indiana scored 44 points, topping the 40-plus mark for the sixth time this season. The Hoosiers are 6-0 when scoring over 40 points in the lane.
WICKWARE'S HOMECOMING
Tuesday's game was extra special for freshman forward Bre Wickware who played in front of a hometown crowd at North Texas. The Denton, Texas native scored a season-high five points and tied her season-high five rebounds in the victory over the Mean Green.
GASSION'S CONTRIBUTIONS
Senior guard Alexis Gassion continues to provide a steady offensive threat for Indiana as she has scored in double-figures in six games this season and is the team's second leading scorer averaging 13.8 points per game. Her team-high 36 assists (4.5 per game) ranks tied for sixth in the Big Ten while her assist-to-turnover ratio (2.3) ranks 55th in the nation and eighth in the Big Ten. She is coming off back-to-back double-figure games after scoring 11 points at NC State and 15 in Tuesday's win at North Texas.
ANOTHER CAREER-NIGHT FOR BUSS
Junior guard Tyra Buss continues to shine for the Hoosiers as she poured in a new career-high 38 points in Thursday's ACC/Big Ten Challenge loss to North Carolina State. She finished the game just two points shy of the all-time single game scoring record (40, Karna Abram) and in a tie for the fourth-best performance in school history. She is also the first player to score more than 30 points in a game since the 2013-14 season and bested her previous career-high by nine points (29, vs. IPFW).
BUSS NAMED TO NAISMITH PRESEASON WATCH LIST
Junior guard Tyra Buss has been named to the Naismith Trophy Women's Preseason Watch List, announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Wednesday morning. Buss is one of 50 players from around the country and one of nine players from the Big Ten on the list for women's college basketball's player of the year honor. Each year the club's board publishes the "Naismith Watch" list that is made up of the top 50 players to watch in men's and women's college basketball. The organization also releases a list of 30 mid-season Naismith candidates.
CAHILL'S CONSISTENCY
Junior forward Amanda Cahill has been a constant presence for the Hoosiers not only this season but in her career. Through eight games this season, the Clyde, Ohio native has grabbed at least six rebounds in every game and scored in double figures in seven of those contests. She recorded her 19th career double-double in Tuesday's win at North Texas (15 points, 10 rebounds) and is shooting 49 percent from the field on the season. In addition, Cahill is the team's leading rebounder (7.9) and the third-leading scorer (12.4).
BUSS CAN CLIMB THE BOOKS
Buss can continue to put her mark on the IU record books as she sits in reaching distance of a few categories. She recently moved into No. 18 on the all-time scoring list after pouring in 21 points in Tuesday's win at North Texas and currently stands at 1,151 career points. She needs just 18 points to move into a tie for 17th place (Linda Cunningham, 1,169). She is also just 111 steals and 19 assists away from reaching the top 10 on both respective career lists.
45 AND COUNTING
Buss continues to reach new scoring heights as she extended her double-figure scoring streak to 45 games, with a 21-point performance at North Texas on Tuesday. She extended her streak - which dates back to her freshman season - and marks the 63rd overall game she's reached double figures - out of the 72 games played in her career. The current IU record stands at 49 consecutive double figure scoring games and is held by Karna Abram who did it between 1985-86 and 1986-87.
CHANGES IN THE STARTING FIVE
Indiana continues to move around its starting lineup which featured a new look again on Thursday. Seniors Karlee McBride and Jenn Anderson made their first starts of the season at North Carolina State as IU used its third different variation of the starting five this season.
JENN FROM ANYWHERE
Senior forward Jenn Anderson continues to provide productive minutes for Indiana this season either in the starting lineup or off the bench. The Sheridan, Ind. native scored a season-high 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting in IU's win over Chattanooga and tied a career-high 11 rebounds against Western Kentucky. She made her way into the starting lineup for the first time against North Carolina State and also started in Tuesday's win over North Texas. For the season, Anderson is also shooting a team-high 62.5 percent from the floor, which is tied for the fourth-best average in the Big Ten. In addition, she averages 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per outing and saw a season-high 27 minutes of play against the Hilltoppers.
