OPENING TIP
• Indiana University is ranked #22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and will host #4/5 Iowa on Thursday night. The Hoosiers are coming off a 68-63 loss at Penn State and are one game behind Iowa in the Big Ten standings. IU is fifth in the country in points per possession at 1.167.

• This will be the fourth straight meeting between the teams to take place in Assembly Hall. IU will play in Iowa City on March 1. The Hoosiers last visited Iowa on December 31, 2012. It was Yogi Ferrell's first game in the Big Ten and the upcoming matchup will be his last road Big Ten game.

• Tom Crean is in his eighth year of leading the Hoosiers. Over the last four+ years, IU is 112-50 and leads the Big Ten with 19 regular season wins over ranked opponents during that time. Since 2011, the Hoosiers have averaged 23 wins per season compared to 20 averaged at IU from 1995-2008. Seven players have scored 1,000 points in their career under Tom Crean at Indiana. Yogi Ferrell (1,793), Christian Watford (1,730), Verdell Jones III (1,347), Jordan Hulls (1,318), Cody Zeller (1,157), Will Sheehey (1,120) and Victor Oladipo (1,117).
DEFENSE KEYS BIG TEN SUCCESS
• According to KenPom.com, IU is ranked second in the Big Ten in defensive efficiency in conference games at 95.9. In conference games only, IU ranks third in scoring defense (66.6) and third in rebound margin (+9.5).
YOGI UP FOR ROBERTSON & COUSY AWARDS
• Senior Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell is one of 20 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Award presented to the National Player of the Year by the USBWA. He was also named one of 10 finalists for the Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
He tied a career-high with 30 points against Wisconsin and is now seventh on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,793 points. He also recently became the school's all-time assist leader at 577.
He enters his final conference season as the Big Ten's active leader in scoring, assists , 3-point field goals made (245) and is the only senior in the league to have started every game he has played (125).
AGAINST THE HAWKEYES
• The Hoosiers have won four of the last six meetings, including 3-of-4 in Assembly Hall since January29, 2012. Six of the last eight meetings will have taken place in Bloomington. They were scheduled to play on February 18, 2014, but 6 1/2 hours before gametime, a metal facing (roughly eight feet long by 14 inches wide), fell and damaged seats. The Hawkeyes returned to play the game nine days later, where the Hoosiers defeated #20 Iowa, 93-86.
WILLIAMS CLOSING IN ON 1,000 POINTS
• Junior Troy Williams is looking to become the eighth player under Tom Crean at IU to reach the 1,000 point mark in his career. Williams needs just 42 points to become the 49th player at IU to reach that mark.

• Ferrell is second in the Big Ten in scoring during conference games at 18.6 per game and is second in the league in 3-point shooting making 50.8% of his league attempts. He is one of two active players in the country to have at least 1,550 career points (1,793), 500 assists (577) and 350 rebounds (404) (other is Juan'ya Green, Hofstra). He was named second team Preseason All-American by The Sporting News and USA Today, in addition to garnering third team honors from Athlon Sports and fourth team mention in Blue Ribbon Magazine. For the season, he is averaging 17.3 points (4th in Big Ten), 4.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists (4th in Big Ten).

• The Hoosiers have notched 50 percent or better shooting in 29 out of 48 halves played so far this season.
• Senior graduate transfer Max Bielfeldt is averaging 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds. He is ninth in the league in field goal percentage at 55.1. He had 16 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and three steals against Illinois. His best day as a collegian came at Rutgers, when he recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals off the bench. He has shot 42.9% from long distance making 15-of-35 shots.
• Sophomore Robert Johnson is shooting 42.7 from 3-point range. He forced a game-winning steal in the final seconds at home against Wisconsin and had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Illinois. He had 16 points and six rebounds at Michigan.
• Senior Nick Zeisloft is second on the team in 3-point field goals with 45 made. He hit 5-of-8 long distance shots and finished with 15 points at Minnesota and led the Hoosiers with 14 points at Penn State after hitting 4-of-7 triples. He is shooting 39.8 from long range this season. He had 15 points and made 5-of-7 three's last year against Iowa.
• Freshman Thomas Bryant is a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree. He had a career-high 23 points at home against Minnesota. He had his first career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds against OSU. He leads the Big Ten in field goal shooting, making 72.4% of his shot attempts. He had an offensive rebound and a putback to give IU the lead for good against Minnesota with 1:56 remaining and added a fast break dunk to seal the win and finish with a career-high 23 points. He is averaging 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in Big Ten play.
• Junior forward Troy Williams had 21 points and five assists with no turnovers against Illinois. He matched his career-high with 23 points against Ohio State. He has averaged 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds and is second on the team in steals with 27. He has made 14 3-point field goals this season after making 12 during his first two years with the Hoosiers.
• Junior Collin Hartman has started the last 11 games. He had 11 points against Northwestern. He is averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and is 42.9 from long distance since moving into the starting lineup. Over the last two years, he has shot 43.1 from three-point range.
• Freshman OG Anunoby is averaging 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in Big Ten games. He scored a career-high 11 points against Nebraska and Wisconsin most recently Michigan. • Senior walk-on Ryan Burton played 10 minutes against Rutgers and scored a career-high six points on a pair of 3-point field goals. He also hit a 3-pointer against Northwestern. He had three key offensive rebounds in last year's win over PSU.
• Former manager Jackson Tharp is now on the 2015-16 roster. Tharp has been an undergraduate manager at IU since the 2012. He is 6-4, 205, and will wear #24. He had an assist in his first game against Illinois.
