Indiana Postgame Notes vs. Michigan State
Feb. 14, 2016
• Indiana still leads the all-time series against Michigan State by a 67-52 margin.
• With a 11-of-30 effort from behind the 3-point line against Michigan State, the Hoosiers have now made at least nine 3-point field goals in 19 out of 26 games this season.
• Indiana also hauled in 16 offensive rebounds, marking the 20th time in 26 games of grabbing at least 10 offensive boards.
• Michigan State finished with a 37-34 edge in rebounds, just the third time this season Indiana has been outrebounded.
• IU dished out 20 assists as a team on Sunday, the sixth time they have had 20 or more assists in game this year.
• The Hoosiers got 24 points from the bench, the second straight game with 20+ points off the bench (28 vs. Iowa).
• After Michigan State took a 21-18 lead with 11:17 left in the first half, Indiana embarked on a 15-2 run over the next 3:19 to take a 33-23 lead with 7:58 left in the first half.
• Graduate student Max Bielfeldt led IU with 15 points as he got his fourth start of the season and first since Nov. 23 against Wake Forest.
• Bielfeldt was 3-of-5 on 3-point field goals in the game, a season-high for 3-point field goals made for Bielfedlt. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in the game for his second double-double of the season (Dec. 30 at Rutgers).
• Sophomore Robert Johnson tallied 11 points, including 3-of-8 on 3-point field goals – to go with five assists. It's the third time in the last four games that he has reached double figures in the scoring column. It's also the eighth time this season that he has made at least three 3-point field goals.
• Freshman center Thomas Bryant finished 10 points and five rebounds, marking the third straight game he has scored exactly 10 points.
• Senior guard Kevin Yogi Ferrell scored nine points and dished out seven assists. The nine points give him 1,816 for his career
• Junior forward Collin Hartman came off the bench to shoot 3-of-3 from the 3-point line on his way to 11 points and also handing out three assists.
• Freshman OG Anunoby was also productive off the bench, dropping in eight points while also grabbing five rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. (watch his highlight dunk).
• Graduate student Nick Zeisloft made his only shot of the game – a 3-pointer in the first half – to finish with three points and also two rebounds.
• Freshman Harrison Niego played eight minutes off the bench and scored two points on a layup in the first half. He has scored 11 total points this season and eight of those have come in Big Ten play.
