Wolf Clinches Win for IU Over No. 59 Tennessee

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis improved to 6-1 on the season with a 4-3 victory over No. 59 Tennessee (4-2) on Sunday inside the IU Tennis Center.
IU took the doubles point as Natalie Whalen and Sarah McLean won 6-2 in the No. 1 match. The Volunteers would win at No. 2 doubles. With the doubles point left up to the No. 3 match, Danielle Wolf and Madison Appel prevailed for the Hoosiers, beating UT's Brittany Lindl and Gabby Schuck, 6-2.
In singles, McLean won at No. 3, 6-4, 6-2, for the Hoosiers, but UT's and the nation's 100th ranked singles player Sadie Hammond put the Lady Vols on the board with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over IU's Appel. The Volunteers would tie the match at 2-2 with a win at No. 2 singles and then took a lead with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
IU's Whalen would tie the match for the Hoosiers as a second set tiebreaker win gave her a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) match victory.
With the contest resting on the No. 6 singles spot, IU's Wolf outlasted UT's Schuck 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 securing the 4-3 victory for the Hoosiers.
Indiana will travel to South Bend for a match against Notre Dame next Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
