The Hoosiers face the SoCon dual champ Mountaineers in their first NWCA appearance
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana wrestling team concludes their home dual schedule with the NWCA Division I National Duals Championship Series on Sunday afternoon. The Hoosiers host the Southern Conference dual champions, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, in one of the eight duals in the series.

Last Time: IU Falls to Rutgers
Indiana brought their Big Ten dual schedule to a close last Friday with a matchup against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. In their first dual meet as Big Ten foes, Rutgers emerged with a 30-9 victory.
Ranked Hoosiers Elijah Oliver (125) and Nate Jackson (174) lifted their Big Ten dual records to 6-3 with their bout wins. Jackson sealed a tight 6-5 decision in the closing seconds over Phil Bakuckas, and Oliver picked up a pin before the end of the first period against Josh Patrick.
Top of the Class
Indiana redshirt junior Nate Jackson maintained his No. 11 national ranking (InterMat) in the 174 lbs weight class after his decision against Phil Bakuckas (Rutgers). Jackson, now 26-5, will face another national contender on Sunday in Nick Kee (Appalachian State), who boasts a similar 24-5 record on the season.
True freshman Elijah Oliver sits at No. 19 in the 125 lbs. class after his first round pin against Josh Patrick (Rutgers). He'll close the regular season with a bout against the Mountaineers' Vito Pasone, who is 11-2 in dual action this year.
Underclassmen Impact
Six of Indiana's 10 starters in their dual lineup are underclassmen, and they've had strong showings throughout the season. The IU freshmen have achieved 17 podium finishes and four championships in tournament play.
True freshmen Elijah Oliver (125) and Jake Danishek (157) are turning heads in their debut season. Oliver boasts a 25-6 record with 16 bonus point wins. Danishek is 14-8 with bonus points in four wins since his debut at SIU-Edwardsville (12/5).
NWCA Dual Series Overview
The NWCA National Dual Championship Series is a one-of-a-kind event that pits the top dual teams in the country against the best of the Big Ten. Eight teams from wrestling's toughest conference are paired against six conference dual champions outside the Big Ten, plus two non-Big Ten wildcard selections.
The eight hosting Big Ten teams include Penn State, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska, Rutgers, Minnesota, and Indiana. The conference dual champions are Oklahoma State (Big 12), Missouri (MAC), Lehigh (EIWA), Edinboro (EWL), Virginia Tech (ACC), and Appalachian State (SoCon). The two wildcard selections are N.C. State (ACC) and Iowa State (Big 12).

Indiana, coming off of their best season since the 2009-10 campaign, will aim to improve from their 12th-place finish in 2015.
Hoosiers in Coaches' Panel
The season's second coaches' panel rankings were released. The rankings are a poll that goes a long way in determining the 33 grapplers in each weight class who will make the trip to Madison Square Garden for the 2016 NCAA Championships. Three Hoosiers received recognition in the second of four panel rankings. Nate Jackson (174) topped the list at #12, followed by Elijah Oliver (125) at #19 and Luke Blanton (149) at #27.
