Harper Inside Top 10 After 36 Holes in Arizona

The freshman posted rounds of 72 and 70 and is tied for seventh at 2-under par
PEORIA, Arizona – After 36 holes of the Westbrook Spring Invitational, the Indiana women's golf team is tied for 10th place out of 15 teams with a score of 585 (+9). Freshman Erin Harper was the top individual performer for Indiana, carding rounds of 72 and 70 on the day to tie for seventh place individually.
The tournament is being played at Westbrook Village Golf Course on the Vistas Course in Peoria, Arizona, with Wisconsin serving as the host.
The Hoosiers carded a team score of 293 in the first round and then followed that up with a 292 in the second round, which ties for the third-lowest round IU has shot at this tournament since 2012.
For Harper, her day started with a bogey on her first hole, but she righted the ship in the first round and finished with an even par round of 72. In the second round, she logged four birdies and two bogies for a score of 2-under par 70, matching the best score of the year for her, and giving her a total score of 142 and a tie for seventh place.
Pear Siriko continued her strong play of late, finishing the first day in a tie for 19th place with rounds of 1-under par 71 and 1-over par 73. In her first round, she started with a birdie on her first hole – hole number 7 – and also birdied the 10th hole and the first hole to offset two bogeys. Her second round featured four birdies after opening with a double bogey.
Ana Sanjuan is tied for 40th at 3-over par after posting steady rounds of 74 and 73. In the first round, she recorded par on every hole on the back nine and finished with three bogeys and a birdie on the front. Round two saw Sanjuan register 17 pars and one bogey on the way to 1-over par.
Senior Camillle Chevalier posted two rounds of 76 and is tied for 66th while Evan Domingo is tied for 77th after rounds of 76 and 79.
Playing as an individual, Alix Kong, started with a 73 and then posted an 82 in the second round, giving her a total score of 155 and a tie for 77th. The first round 73 matches the lowest round of Kong's career, as she also posted a 73 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in 2015.
