Trio of Hoosiers In Top 20 Heading Into Final Round

GOODYEAR, Arizona – After posting the best team score in over six years on Sunday, the Indiana men's golf team finished Monday's second round with a score of 5-over par 293 and dropped down to third place at the 2016 Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Course.

Indiana has a team score of 564 through the first two rounds and is four shots behind Arkansas State in first place and two shots behind James Madison in second place.

Individually, sophomore Brendon Doyle continues to pace IU, as he carded a 1-under par round of 71 on Monday. He is now 7-under par for the tournament and in fourth place overall and three shots out of first place. He posted five birdies in his round today but those were offset by four bogeys.

Jake Brown is tied for 13^th after his second round score of 2-over par 74 leaves him at 4-under par for the tournament. He opened with eight pars and one bogey on his front nine and then followed with two bogeys and one birdie on the back nine.

Keegan Vea also registered a solid second round and moved up to a tie for 18^th overall at 1-under par for the tournament. After he opened with a 1-under par 71 in his first round, Vea came back to post 72 in his second round, playing the both the front and back nine at even on the day.

Andrew Havill was 1-under on his round after nine holes, but ran into trouble the final seven holes, playing them in 7-over par to post a score of 76. He is 1-over par for the tournament and tied for 34^th.

Max Kollin began his round with four bogeys on the front nine and started to get closer to even par on the back nine with birdies on 11 and 14. But he would bogey three of the final four holes and post 77 to leave him at 3-over par for the tournament and a tie for 50^th.

Playing as an individual is redshirt freshman Jack Sparrow, who registered a score of 80 on Monday and is tied for 88^th at 10-over par for the tournament.

The final round will get underway at 10:30am ET on Tuesday with live scoring available at Golfstat.com.
