OPENING TIP
• Indiana University is ranked #21 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and #22 by AP and will visit Penn State on Saturday night for their only meeting of the season.. The Hoosiers are coming off an 80-67 win at Michigan. IU is third in the country in points per possession at 1.177.

• The Hoosiers host #4 Iowa next Thursday night. Both lead the Big Ten at 9-1.
OFFENSIVE RARITY
• IU is seventh in the nation in scoring (85.0), second in field goal percentage (51.6%) and fifth in three-point field goal percentage (42.7%). Similar numbers (85 points or more, 50.0% shooting or more and 40% shooting or more from 3-point range) have been posted only once in the last 20 years in college basketball when Kansas in 01-02 averaged 90.9 points on 50.6% shooting and 41.7% from 3FG range.

• Tom Crean is in his eighth year of leading the Hoosiers. Over the last four+ years, IU is 112-49 and leads the Big Ten with 19 regular season wins over ranked opponents during that time. Since 2011, the Hoosiers have averaged 23 wins per season compared to 20 averaged at IU from 1995-2008. Seven players have scored 1,000 points in their career under Tom Crean at Indiana. • According to KenPom.com, IU is ranked first in the Big Ten in defensive efficiency in conference games at 95.1. In conference games only, IU ranks fourth in scoring defense (66.5) and second in rebound margin (+10.0).
YOGI UP FOR ROBERTSON & COUSY AWARDS
• Senior Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell is one of 20 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Award presented to the National Player of the Year by the USBWA. He was also named one of 10 finalists for the Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
He tied a career-high with 30 points against Wisconsin and is now seventh on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,780 points. He also recently became the school's all-time assist leader at 572. He enters his final conference season as the Big Ten's active leader in scoring, assists , three-point field goals made (244) and is the only senior in the league to have started every game he has played (124).
AGAINST THE NITTANY LIONS
• Each of the last three meetings with Penn State have come down to the final play. IU defeated the Nittany Lions, 76-73 in their only meeting a year ago in Assembly Hall. PSU knocked off IU, 66-65, in Assembly Hall in 2014 and IU won the last meeting at the Jordan Center, 79-76 in 2014. IU has won its last four game at Penn State. Last year, Robert Johnson had one of his best games of the season with 20 points against PSU.
WILLIAMS CLOSING IN ON 1,000 POINTS
• Junior Troy Williams is looking to become the eighth player under Tom Crean at IU to reach the 1,000 point mark in his career. Williams needs just 51 points to become the 49th player at IU to reach that mark.

• Ferrell is second in the Big Ten in scoring during conference games at 19.2 per game and leads the league in three-point shooting making 54.7% of his league attempts. He is one of two active players in the country to have at least 1,550 career points (1,780), 500 assists (572) and 350 rebounds (401) (other is Juan'ya Green, Hofstra). He was named second team Preseason All-American by The Sporting News and USA Today, in addition to garnering third team honors from Athlon Sports and fourth team mention in Blue Ribbon Magazine.
For the season, he is averaging 17.4 points (4th in Big Ten), 4.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists (4th in Big Ten).

• The Hoosiers have notched 50 percent or better shooting in 29 out of 46 halves played so far this season. • Senior graduate transfer Max Bielfeldt is averaging 8.0 points and 4.7 rebounds. He is seventh in the league in field goal percentage at 56.2. He had 16 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and three steals against Illinois. His best day as a collegian came at Rutgers, when he recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals off the bench. He has shot 43.3% from long distance making 13 of 30 shots.
• Sophomore Robert Johnson is 10th in the Big Ten in three-point field goal percentage, making 43.5% of his shots. He forced a game-winning steal in the final seconds at home against Wisconsin and had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Illinois. He had 16 points and six rebounds at Michigan.
• Senior Nick Zeisloft is second on the team in 3-point field goals with 41 made. He hit 5-of-8 long distance shots and finished with 15 points at Minnesota. He is shooting 38.7 from long range this season.
• Freshman Thomas Bryant is a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree. He had a career-high 23 points against Minnesota. He had his first career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds against OSU. He leads the Big Ten in field goal shooting, making 72.4% of his shot attempts. He had an offensive rebound and a putback to give IU the lead for good against Minnesota with 1:56 remaining and added a fast break dunk to seal the win and finish with a career-high 23 points.
• Junior forward Troy Williams had 21 points and five assists with no turnovers against Illinois. He matched his career-high with 23 points against Ohio State. He has averaged 10.3 points in three games against Penn State.
• Junior Collin Hartman has started the last 10 games. He had 11 points against Northwestern. He is averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and is 46.2 from long distance since moving into the starting lineup. Over the last two years, he has shot 43.1 from three-point range.
• Freshman OG Anunoby is averaging 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in Big Ten games. He scored a career-high 11 points against Nebraska and Wisconsin most recently Michigan. • Former manager Jackson Tharp is now on the 2015-16 roster. Tharp has been an undergraduate manager at IU since the 2012 after playing at Zionsville High School. He earned All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference honors as a junior and senior at Zionsville. He is 6-4, 205, and will wear #24. He had an assist in his first game against Illinois.
