Matthews added another 5m penalty shot, assisted on a Karrie Kozokar goal, and scored another goal assisted by Kozokar.
Sarah Myers added two assists to the Hoosier offensive attack and also won all four sprints.
Mary Campbell continued her strong play, allowing just six goals in the match. She made six saves in her 12th start of the season.
In game two of the day, against the Mercyhurst Lakers, Indiana finally got off to the quick start that coach Barry King was looking for. "Every game we look to start fast. We have a couple sets that we like to run early that give us the best scoring chances. The first two games of the weekend we did not capitalize on those opportunities, this game we did. And that is important, that quick start helps build the confidence of the team."
Beadle scored the first two goals of the game again for the Hoosiers. The first came just 24 seconds into the game. Her goals were the only ones in the quarter for either team.
Matthews scored the first three goals of the second quarter to push the lead to 5-0. Pipkin and Sarah Young both added second period goals for the Hoosiers. The half time lead was 7-1 in favor of Indiana.
In the third quarter Indiana got on the board quickly again. This time it was Schroeder scoring within the first 40 seconds. Kozokar added a goal just 40 seconds later. Matthews and Beadle both added goals to give them four each for the game. After three quarters the lead was 12-3.
The fourth frame saw Bronwyn Smith tie her career best with two goals. Mackenzie Rosenthal scored her first career goal with a 1:36 on the clock. The final score was 15-5.
MacKenzie Bonk earned her first start of the weekend. She played very well, surrendering five goals while making 11 saves.
Indiana will be back in the pool tomorrow when they dual Gannon at 10:00AM.
