Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader over Toledo on Sunday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Baseball (9-9) picked up a pair of victories on Sunday afternoon over the Toledo Rockets to take three of four games for the weekend.
The Hoosiers got a stellar starting effort in game one from senior Caleb Baragar, who allowed just one hit in eight innings and struck out 11, to win 8-0. In game two, the Hoosiers pitching staff combined for a two-hitter from freshman Paul Milto, sophomore B.J. Sabol, junior Thomas Belcher and junior Jake Kelzer to take it by a score of 5-1.
Game One: Indiana 8, Toledo 0
Baragar took a perfect game into the seventh inning, where he surrendered just the one hit he gave up on a single to left. The senior finished the day with a career-high 11 strikeouts to go along with two walks over eight innings on the mound. The lefty faced just 27 batters in the eight innings he pitched.
Offensively, juniors Alex Krupa and Craig Dedelow led the way for the Hoosiers, each collecting three hits and an RBI. Senior Brian Wilhite had two hits in the win while junior Austin Cangelosi and sophomore Isaiah Pasteur each drove in two runs.
Indiana put together a four-spot in the bottom of the third inning. After Wilhite reached on a bunt base-hit, Krupa drove him in on an RBI triple to give the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead. Dedelow followed with an RBI single later in the inning while freshman Luke Miller and Cangelosi each hit sacrifice flies to up the Hoosier advantage to 4-0.
Three of IU's first four batters reached in the bottom of the seventh, including a one-out double by Dedelow. With the bases loaded, Cangelosi was hit by a pitch and freshman Ryan Fineman followed with a sac fly RBI to right. Pasteur concluded the four-run seventh with a two-run single to give Indiana the 8-0 edge.
Following Baragar's eight strong innings, freshman Tim Herrin pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to seal the 8-0 Hoosier victory.
Game Two: Indiana 5, Toledo 1
Milto earned his first career start on the mound and was sharp. The freshman went five innings, allowing two hits and one run (unearned) while striking out three. The Hoosier bullpen of Sabol, Belcher and Kelzer combined for a no-hitter in its four innings of relief.
Senior Brian Wilhite, sophomore Isaiah Pasteur and freshman Scotty Bradley each recorded two hits in the victory. Wilhite led the way with three RBI, thanks to a three-run home run in the fourth inning, marking the second of the year for him. Pasteur drove in IU's other two runs.
Toledo took the early lead scoring an unearned run to briefly jump ahead, 1-0.
In the fourth inning, Miller led off with a hit by pitch and advanced to second on a single by Bradley. After a bunt by Cangelosi moved the runners over, Pasteur singled to center to tie it all up at one. Wilhite followed with the three-run home run to put Indiana ahead, 4-1.
Indiana tacked on another run in the sixth. Cangelosi doubled to lead things off and then scored on a base-hit by Pasteur to make it a 5-1 game.
The Hoosiers are back in action this Wednesday as they host Butler at Bart Kaufman Field. First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m.
