Hoosiers Fall to No. 9 Michigan in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana women's tennis team dropped its first Big Ten match of the year on the road to No. 9 Michigan on Saturday, 6-1.
The Wolverines (9-4, 2-0) struck early taking the doubles points by winning at positions No. 1 and No. 2.
In singles play, Michigan clinched the match quickly taking victories at No. 3, No. 1 and No. 4 soon after singles began.
Indiana's (12-5, 2-1) Paula Gutierrez was a bright spot for the Hoosiers as the junior earned a ranked win in the No. 2 singles match. Gutierrez dropped the first set to No. 15 Brienne Minor before rallying to earn the match, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (7).
The Hoosiers will return to the courts on Sunday in East Lansing as IU will take on Michigan State at Noon ET.
