FAIRFAX, California – The Indiana women's golf team used a final round score of 288 to move up from eighth place at the start of the day and finish in fourth place with a total score of 592 (+16). The round was the second-best round posted on the day at the Meadow Club near San Francisco.
The Hoosiers finished ahead of No. 11 Washington, No. 26 BYU and No. 48 San Francisco and post their best team finish of the year, equaling their finish in the stroke play portion of the East-West Match Play on Sept. 20, 2015.
The round of the day for IU was carded by sophomore Alix Kong, who was playing in her first team event of the season. She finished six birdies and two bogeys for a score of 68, just one shot behind the best round of the day and also a career-best.
