Hoosiers Fall at No. 20 Michigan, 4-1

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana men's tennis team won the doubles point but fell 4-1 against No. 20 Michigan on Friday.
Seniors Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk gave the Hoosiers early momentum with a 6-3 win at the top doubles spot. After Michigan won the No. 3 doubles match it came down to No. 2, where Chris Essick and Stefan Lugonjic battle it out and earned a 7-6 win to put the Hoosiers up 1-0 in the match.
Michigan won all six first sets in singles to put the momentum back on its side. Bednarczyk and Elliott Yee battled back to force third sets, but Michigan capitalized in the four other spots to earn straight set victories and the four points to clinch the match.
Up next the Hoosiers return to action on Sunday in East Lansing, Mich., where they will take on the Spartans at 12:00 p.m. ET.
