Indiana hits the road for two top-20 games at Canham Natatorium

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Hoosiers' trek through the CWPA continues this weekend with a pair of games against the Ivy League's best on Saturday in Ann Arbor. Indiana will first look for a return to the winning column against the Harvard Crimson, who edged the Hoosiers in overtime earlier this season. Later that evening, the Hoosiers will retake the pool against the Princeton Tigers for their first meeting since last season's CWPA Championship game. Both contests are set to air via Facebook Live on the Michigan Water Polo page.

Hoosier Polo Notes:

Down the Home Stretch, on the Road
After Saturday's senior day game against Michigan, the Hoosiers will finish their season on the road. Indiana has two weekends remaining in their regular season schedule, and they'll look for some crucial CWPA wins in their six remaining conference games.

Senior Day Showdown
In their most recent action, Indiana took the pool for their final home game of the year against No. 8 Michigan, their first CWPA opponent of the season. The Hoosiers battled to a tie after the first half, but the Wolverines pulled away with a +4 goal advantage in the third quarter for an 11-8 win.

Kelly Matthews, Candyce Schroeder, and Jennifer Beadle led Indiana on the score sheet with two goals apiece. Freshman Kate Pipkin connected on a trio of assists, her third game this season with three or more assists.

Mary Campbell put together another impressive outing in her final appearance at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center with 13 saves. It's the ninth time this season that Campbell has made 10-plus saves in a game.

Catching Crimson
The Hoosiers will open this weekend on Saturday morning with their second meeting this season against Harvard. Their last clash, at the Bruno Classic in Providence, resulted in a 12-11 overtime win favoring Harvard. Kelly Matthews slotted four goals in the game, and freshman Kate Pipkin set her single-game season high with five assists.

Prepping for Princeton
Indiana closes the day with an evening game at Canham Natatorium, the long-awaited reunion of Indiana and No. 16 Princeton. The Hoosiers and Tigers met three times last season, with each game coming down to a one-goal win. Princeton won their final contest in the 2015 CWPA Championship game to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers won 10 of their first 11 games to start the season, and most recently went 2-1 at the LMU Invitational.

Of Note...
• 2015 CWPA Rookie of the Year Kelly Matthews is having a stellar season with the Hoosiers. She leads Indiana in four categories: goals (56), assists (39), steals (36), and field blocks (16). Nationally, Matthews ranks fifth in scoring and third amongst assist leaders.
• Senior goalkeeper Mary Campbell is amidst her second season starting in the cage for Indiana. Lately, the senior has been in top form. Campbell leads the nation in saves per game (minimum 10 games) with an average of 10.1 saves.
• Center Candyce Schroeder is IU's top returning scorer in 2016. The senior has 150 career goals (8th - IU history) and 67 career assists to her name. Her presence in the pool has caused problems for opposing defenses, as Schroeder has drawn 31 ejections this season.
• After this weekend, Indiana will play out their final stretch of regular season games on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 in Princeton, N.J.
