Track Heads to Lincoln, Neb. for the Big Ten Championships

A total of 56 student-athletes will travel west to compete in the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln, Neb. The Hoosiers will look to improve upon their indoor season finish in which the men placed seventh and the women's team tied for tenth.
The meet will begin on Friday, May 13 with day one of the heptathlon and decathlon events. The final event of the meet will take place on Sunday, May 15 with the men's 4x400m relay at approximately 5:45PM EST.
Indiana had seven individuals earn podium finishes at the Indoor Big Ten Championships in February. Eric Bethea finished third in the triple jump. Jason Crist also placed third in the 3,000m run. Crist currently holds three marks that rank inside the top ten in the conference standings.
Dylan Anderson finished second in the indoor heptathlon. Rorey Hunter was the runner-up in the mile run. He has a chance for a big weekend as he is seeded in the top eight in two events.
Daniel Kuhn was the lone men's gold medal winner this winter. He figures to be busy this weekend. He is seeded within the top eight in three individual events including the 400m dash, 800m run, and the 1500m run. The 4x400m relay team also could score.
Nakel McClinton placed third in the weight throw. She and Laura Schroeder will be seeded as the top two throwers in the hammer throw. McClinton will also be in position to score points in both the discus and the shot put.
Sydney Clute captured Big Ten gold in the pole vault. She and Sophie Gutermuth will also be seeded as the top two pole vaulters in the conference.
