Hoosiers Send Eight to the Finals

Brianna Johnson crossed third in the women's 3,000m steeplechase. Her time of 10:13.21 is a career best mark and the fourth best time in program history. Jason Crist took sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:02.94. His teammate, Josh Roche, was right behind him in seventh with a time of 9:02.99.
Three women reached the finals in the 1500m run. Katherine Receveur was the first to punch her ticket into the finals by finishing third in her heat. Brenna Calder finished third in her heat to automatically qualify as well. Olivia Hippensteel ran the best time outside of the automatic qualifiers to earn her spot in the finals.
Owen Skeete finished second in his heat of the 1500m run to advance to the finals. Rorey Hunter will join his teammate after finishing third in the same heat.
Daniel Kuhn will represent the Hoosiers in the 800m finals after winning his heat with a time of 1:49.78. He ran the fourth fastest preliminary time. Coming into the weekend he was the third seeded runner in the Big Ten.
Taylor Williams ran a career best time of 54.25 in the prelims of the 400m dash to secure a spot in the finals tomorrow. She ran the eighth fastest qualifying time, beating her seed mark by one. In the men's 400m hurdles, Diquis Manley finished second in his heat to clinch a spot in the finals. His time of 51.42 was a career best and the eighth best time in school history.
Paul Galas tied for sixth in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.07m (6ft-9.5in). Ari Nelson also finished sixth in the women's long jump with a mark of 6.06m (19ft-10.75in).
Chase Pacheco finished 11th in the Decathlon with a career best point total of 6,859 points. That is the eighth best score in school history. Andrew Huber finished 15th with a score of 6,578 points.
Michelle Adeniyi set a new personal best in the heptathlon. She finished 11th with 4,630 points. Her point total is good for tenth in school history.
Tomorrow's action with begin at 1:00PM EST with the women's triple jump and discus throw. Running events will begin at 2:45pm EST with the 4x100m relay.
